Pernod Ricard has swapped out coconuts for strawberries in the latest launch for the Malibu rum brand.

COCONUT rum brand Malibu is swapping out its signature coconut flavour in favour of strawberry for its latest launch.

Malibu Strawberry is available now in a 700ml format at an RRP of £17.19 from Asda, Morrisons, along with a new RTD format Malibu Strawberry Daiquiri 250ml can.

The RTD can has an ABV of 5% and is now available in Tesco and Sainsbury’s stores for £2.40 RRP per can.

Both SKUs are available from Booker for convenience retailers.

Made with white rum and strawberry flavour, the new Malibu Strawberry variants do not include coconut, with the two formats offering consumers the chance to enjoy the drink on the go or as a serve in the house.

Liam Murphy, brand director at Pernod Ricard UK, said: “Strawberry spirit variants over-index with young adult shoppers and remain in high demand in the on-trade.

“The launch of Malibu Strawberry will allow us to continue the flavour momentum. It’s the ultimate summer-sipper – fruity, fun and perfect for sharing with friends for that good-vibes-only feeling all year round.”
