FOOD-to-go options may be best put to use across the convenience channel.
According to Meal Track data collected by The Wholesale Company, food-to-go (FTG) occasions have been on the up in forecourts and convenience by 29% and 8% respectively, as of August last year.
This was in stark contrast to the rest of the grocery industry, which reportedly saw a decline for the mission, making the convenience industry prime for food to go.
And Elaine Rothballer, head of marketing consumer brands at Kepak, reckons the firm’s Rustlers-branded FTG machines will provide a solution to help retailers further tap into this profitable category.
Rothballer said: “Rustlers also offers an innovative range of branded food-to-go solutions, with four retail concepts providing something to suit every store.
“Pre-programmed to cook the bestselling Rustlers SKUs, the microwaves can also be used to cook other products in store providing a cross-category, self-service, hot food-to-go solution, driving further demand and sales.”
