MACKIE’S is steaming ahead on the distribution deal front, after reaching an agreement to supply the Caledonian Sleeper with chocolate.
As of August, guests booked into double and club rooms on the overnight train can expect a Mackie’s of Scotland’s 35g bar in their gift pack.
Mackie’s chocolate and crisps range also now features in the on-board room service and Club Car menus.
The Aberdeenshire-based Mackie’s reckons the deal will boost awareness of its five-flavour 35g and 120g bar range.
According to Mackie’s, the deal was secured in part due to the chocolate maker’s sustainability focused activities, which include the use of wind turbines, a solar farm and biomass energy.
This ties in with Caledonian Sleeper’s stated goal of offering one of the most environmentally friendly ways to travel from London to Scotland.
