YORKSHIRE Tea has been exorcising plastic waste, by introducing plant-based tea bags across its range.
The tea brand has been rolling out its plant-based bags across packaging formats. Plant-based bags can now be found in its 40, 80, 160, 210 and 240 tea bag boxes. Yorkshire Tea’s new bags use a plant-based plastic seal and are fully compostable.
A Yorkshire Tea spokesperson said that the new tea bags weren’t the only change for the brand. “All our products are now carbon neutral, and what we want next is for all our packaging to be ‘circular’ – which means made from renewable, plant-based or recycled materials, and reusable, recyclable or compostable after use.”
