Health made a little easier
GLASGOW-based licensed retailer One O One has been doing its bit to help customers make healthier dietary choices.
One O One joined forces with the Scottish Government funded SGF Healthy Living Programme, to run a series of Cooking With Welby for families events across its stores.
The Cooking With Welby initiative encourages children to “go bananas” in the kitchen, in a bid to make healthy eating fun.
Participating One O One stores included Easterhouse, Gleddoch, East Kilbride, Larkhall and Springburn.
As part of the Cooking with Welby launch, stores gave away shopping bags branded with the campaign’s cartoon banana character Welby, with every bag of bananas sold in store. The bags were packed with easy to create recipes, in a bid to support customers looking to make healthier dining choices at home.
Gillian Edgar, field manager for the Healthy Living Programme, said: “SGF Healthy Living Programme have been delighted to work with One O One convenience stores on ‘Cook With Welby’.
“Over the past year with everyone spending more time at home, it was an ideal time to encourage families to have a bit of fun together making our banana recipes and making the healthier choice.
“Being part of the community is key for convenience retailing and One O One’s stores are at the heart of their communities and are always willing to give back to their customers.”
• One O One hasn’t just been busy promoting healthier alternatives. The multiple retailer has also been upgrading its stores, having recently refitted One O One Ruchazie Place in Cranhill.
