CARABAO injected some energy into the Edinburgh derby late last month by agreeing sponsorship deals with Heart of Midlothian FC and Hibernian FC.
Both teams met in the Scottish Cup Semi Final on 31 October, with the pair backed by different variants of Carabao.
Hibernian is now sponsored by Carabao Green Apple flavour, while Hearts takes its support from Carabao’s Mixed Berry variant.
The deals have been agreed for the 2020/21 football season and will see the brand appear via LED and/or trackside advertising during matches for both sides.
Carabao will also use the sponsorship to offer consumer incentives such as tickets, signed shirts and signed ball giveaways.
Norrie Donaldson, head of sales for Carabao in Scotland said: “It is an absolute honour to team up with these two giants of Scottish football and become their official energy drink partner.”
The sponsorship deal comes as Carabao expands its price-marked offer with the roll out of a new Mixed Berry PMP.
The 69p marked cans join Carabao Green Apple, Original and Mandarin Orange in the brand’s ‘only 69p’ range.
Mark Tanner, head of independents and wholesale at Carabao UK and Ireland said: “We’re delighted to add our new Mixed Berry product to our price-marked pack range.
“As we battle the effects of economic recession, we would expect the shopper demand for price-marked packs to grow.”
