SWEDISH chef Karin Jonsson has opened a new Scandinavian bakery on Orkney.
The new bakery produces artisan breads infused with Scandinavian flavours and natural ingredients, Jonsson launched Orkney Sourdough Co in 2019, with support from Business Gateway Orkney to cater to demand for sustainable, Scandinavian and locally-sourced foods.
Jonsson said Business Gateway’s support was key to launching the bakery. “Being new to Orkney and the UK, I had no idea where to start – luckily, the Business Gateway office is located right next to my house. I just popped in for a chat one day and was instantly put at ease.”
