SWEDISH fruit cider brand Kopparberg has extended its range with the launch of a new cherry variant.

Kopparberg Cherry launched exclusively to Tesco on 3 February, but the new flavour will be more widely available from the beginning of March.

Tasting notes for the 4% ABV Kopparberg Cherry describe the cider as a combination of the “light and fruity elements of apple cider” with a “sweet hint of cherry.”

The new SKU will be available in a 500ml bottle or as a 10x330ml can pack. Tesco and Asda will offer Kopparberg Cherry at £2.20 for a 500ml bottle and Morrisons will price the pack at £2.30. Asda will also offer the 10x330ml pack for £12.

Fruit ciders continue to be increasingly popular in the UK.

Kopparberg has suggested that the timing of the launch, which comes with spring on the horizon, will allow Kopparberg Cherry to capitalise on increased demand for cider as  consumers start to dine outside.

Rob Salvesen, head of marketing for Kopparberg said: “Fruit ciders continue to be increasingly popular in the UK, and due to increasing demand for new flavours, we are excited to be launching our new flavour to the UK off trade.

“Our focus on delivering a variety of much-loved crisp and refreshing flavours is what we feel sets us apart from other ciders on the market.”
