The pack contains six Oaty Cookie Bars, at 94 calories each, with an RRP of £1.39.
Marketing director Kate Needham, said: “As consumer demand for more permissible options shows no signs of abating, Maryland Oaty Cookie Bars reinforces our commitment to leading the way in portion control.
“High in fibre and wholegrain oats, the individually-wrapped chocolate chip cookie bars are targeted at the on-the-go and lunchbox occasions.”
Needham added that Burton’s drive to make biscuits a more permissible snack includes a 20% calorie and sugar reduction across its portfolio.
She added: “The move follows the introduction of less than 100 calorie packs across our core minis biscuits range in 2018 and the launch of Maryland Sugar Free Cookies in February this year.
“This reinforces Burton’s commitment to offering more choice with treatier products that are both permissible and convenient.”
