FOLLOWING the demise of T in the Park, Scotland has been left without a major three day music festival for retailers to capitalise on.
It turns out, however, that there are still a whole host of events across the country for stores to capitalise on in 2019 including some fantastic musical celebrations taking place across the nation and global sporting occasions that entertain millions.
This summer, Scottish shoppers and tourists alike will spend their cash in convenience stores as they make their way to events ranging from the retro Rewind Festival in Perth, to the Kirkcudbright Jazz Festival in Dumfries and Galloway.
And while last year’s Men’s World Cup, combined with a scorching Scottish summer, was a welcome boost for convenience retailers, this year sees the return of the FIFA Women’s World Cup – a major tournament that Scotland has in fact qualified for.
Spar is the sponsor of the national women’s team, meaning fans will surely have convenience stores on the brain during Scotland’s first game of the tournament, an ‘Auld Enemy’ clash against England in Nice, France.
