A GROUP of Scottish seafood companies made a speculative voyage across the Atlantic ocean last month to showcase their products at an exhibition drawing more than 22,000 seafood professionals.
The five-strong delegation – including Loch Fyne Oysters, the Scottish Salmon Company, Dawnfresh, Wester Ross and Scottish Seas – attended the Seafood Expo North America (SENA) alongside industry body Seafood Scotland.
The show offered the chance to meet buyers, retailers, hoteliers and chefs to discuss the quality of Scottish produce.
Seafood Scotland’s trade marketing manager, Clare MacDougall, said: “We are always working with the industry to build on existing trade as well as attracting new business from emerging markets.
“SENA is a huge opportunity for companies to talk directly with those responsible for making purchasing and buying decisions about our world-class seafood.
“Our aim is to increase the opportunities available to the industry and create further demand for our incredible variety of species.”
