REFORMULATION doesn’t seem to have slowed growth for AG Barr, according to the latest financial statement from the firm.
Despite tabloid fuss around Barr’s decision to reformulate Irn-Bru ahead of the sugar tax coming into force, revenue for the firm grew by 5.6% to £279m for the year to 26 January 2019.
Profit before tax was also up by 2.5% for the Scottish firm which also counts Rubicon and Strathmore among its drinks portfolio.
Chief executive Roger White said the company had adapted well to both the anticipated circumstances and “less expected” events like last summer’s CO2 shortage.
