SCOTTISH Olympic middle distance runner Laura Muir put some Strathmore Water competition winners through their paces in an exclusive coaching session last month.
The ten winners, aged from 24 to 55, from around the UK won their invitations to the session as part of Strathmore’s Do More challenge which aims to inspire more active participation in sport and exercise across all levels.
On the day, the winners had the opportunity to get advice from Muir on their warm-ups, running and stretching techniques; getting a glimpse of just what it takes to become a champion.
Muir, from Milnathort in Kinross-shire, says her aim as an ambassador for Strathmore is to “get more people on the move – to just try to be more active and see what benefits it can bring to your life.”
A double gold winner at the European Indoor Championships in 2017, Muir added a silver for the 1500m and a bronze medal for 3000m in the 2018 World Indoor Championships.
