Raising the bar with meringue
SWEET-toothed consumers with an eye on their calorie count could be in for a bar-shaped treat thanks to the launch of Flower & White’s new Meringue Bars.
Launching this month, the new bars are available in either Raspberry, comprising raspberry-flavoured meringue coated in white chocolate and raspberry crumble, or Chocolate, comprising chocolate-flavoured meringue coated in dark chocolate and chocolate crumbs. Both bars contain fewer than 100 calories and are priced at £1.29 for a 23.5g bar.
Flower & White has said its new products are handcrafted using free range eggs, natural flavours and colours and Callebaut chocolate, slow-cooked to a traditional Swiss recipe.
The new bars also tick their fair share of dietary boxes, being gluten free, low fat and suitable for vegetarians.
Meringue Bars first debuted on QVC and online on 23 February and should be available nationwide from 5 March.
Leanne Crowther, co-founder of Flower & White commented on the launch: “This is an exciting and innovative new addition to our collection and caters for a whole new sector.
“Our natural Meringue Bars meet the boom in demand for snacking products which are low in fat/calories and contain fewer ingredients with a clean label.
“Our Meringue Bars also remain true to the ethos of Flower & White, in that they are great tasting and they look beautiful too. They will stand out on any retail shelf as an irresistible grab-and-go sweet treat.”
