THE Petrol Retailers Association has welcomed the UK Government’s announcement that it will ban sales of new petrol and diesel cars from 2040.
The association welcomed what it described as “pragmatic steps”, which do not impose a ban on diesel vehicles in urban areas or permit local authorities to penalise diesel drivers.
PRA chair Brian Madderson (pictured) said it is “absolutely fair and correct to protect consumers as they consider switching vehicle types.”
