EPOS equipment supplier Point Four has launched a new self-service checkout facility that’s tailor-made for forecourt and convenience retailers.
ServeAssist checkouts have been designed to allow retailers to handle the sale of age-restricted products such as fuel, alcohol, tobacco and medicines while still gaining from the staff cost savings of self-service.
Point Four’s system sees each self-checkout fitted with a secondary ServeAssist screen which provides an attendant with a view of all transactions, allowing a single staff member to manage up to five units simultaneously, and provide age verifications and other checks when required.
