MARTIN Race has been named new managing director of 64-depot, £2.3bn turnover Bestway Wholesale, the second-largest wholesaler in the UK, in a board restructuring that followed Younus Sheikh’s decision to move to a non-executive role.
Race assumes all day-to-day responsibility for the wholesale business.
Naser Khan, previously finance director, becomes chief operating officer handling finance, IT, legal, HR, health & safety, property and facilities. Dawood Pervez replaces Race as trading director. Rizwan Pervez moves from operations director to a new post of customer liaison director and Paul Rowland joins to head up operations.
