Best in fresh workshops boost sales

Nisa

FRESH food workshops introduced earlier this year have contributed to an 8% growth in sales for Nisa members, according to the group.
The Best in Fresh workshops offer training and advice on best practice and essential support on fresh food development, delivered by Nisa’s fresh food development managers in association with Nisa’s Retail Academy.
The free-to-attend sessions deliver guidance for retailers on how they can better implement their fresh offering in store to increase footfall and sales across the category.
Nisa says the response has been hugely positive, with over 200 retailers taking part in the first sessions and providing unprecedented feedback. The workshops cover topics such as legal requirements of stocking and selling fresh produce, and business building insights covering best in class for fresh and Heritage.
“We have worked hard as a team to deliver the workshops through the Nisa Retail Academy, and it is refreshing to see the 8% sales uplift within this category,” said Victoria Lockie, head of support and shared services.
“The whole team is instrumental to the success of the workshops, including members sharing best practice; and attending the workshops gives them an ideal networking opportunity to do so.”
In addition to the advice and support that members receive, the workshop also provides attendees with a number of initiatives, including 10% off online learning through the Retail Academy and 15% discount on selected fresh related concept data equipment.
Nisa member Kishor Patel said of the workshops: “This is a great tool Nisa has and session attendance should be mandatory as it is of great benefit.”
