RETAILERS from South Lanarkshire and Stirling were among the stars at Bestway and Batley’s Retail Development Awards 2015.
Donna and Bruce Morgan, of Best-one Brownlies at Biggar, scooped the title of Scottish winner, while Mujahid Islam, of Best-one at Fintry was named Scottish runner-up.
The awards were hosted by Bestway Group CEO Zameer Choudrey and Bestway Wholesale managing director Younus Sheikh. The firm says the programme is part of its mission to drive up store standards and increase the profitability of its customers’ businesses.
The awards are the culmination of the Retail Development Programme run by Bestway which includes three two-day workshops in which retailers are given the latest insights and category advice to help them develop their stores.
Awards are given to those who best implement what they learn at the workshops in their stores.
The evening’s top prize and a cheque for £10,000 went to Tharmalingam Gnanachchandran of The Local Zone in Liverpool.
