Meeting tropical demand

RubiconEXOTIC juices and juice drinks are in demand and Rubicon is the most popular brand in the sub-category says AG Barr.
Head of marketing Adrian Troy said: “Rubicon has met a growing need amongst consumers looking for new and interesting flavours on the soft drinks fixture.”
He continued: “Mango flavour drinks now outsell apple flavour drinks by 18% while, within juices, exotic flavours have grown the category by 17% in the last two years.”

• Razin Ali, brand manager at Sunmagic, said that months of market research went into the development of its Hydra range.
He said: “The drinks all adhere to new government guidelines and provide one of a consumer’s five-a-day portions.”

• According to Vita Coco, parents are concerned about what their children drink and it has launched Vita Coco Kids in response.
CEO Giles Brook said: “Vita Coco Kids offers parents a lower sugar natural alternative with two flavours – Apple & Blackcurrant and Mango & Pineapple.”

• Cold-pressed juice brand B.Fresh has launched Greenglow which it says is a high source of vitamin K and potassium.
B.Fresh founder Philip Maddocks said research showed that celery was a love it or loathe it ingredient so he created a recipe with iceberg lettuce.
