Partners for Growth stresses ice cream dessert sales in winter.

RETAILERS should stock ice cream all year round according to Unilever’s Partners for Growth programme.

It says 26% of ice cream sales occur in winter when people use it in desserts. More than 50% of those sales are impulse purchases.

Partners for Growth also recommends stocking the best sellers in the various ice cream sub-categories such as chocolate ice cream snacks, cones, refreshment products and kids lines.

• Spar is introducing an eight pack of mini ice creams in milk, dark, white and almond flavours.

Spar UK brand director Susan Darbyshire said: “These mini ice creams are the perfect size for mums to treat their children.

“Plus, the £2 PMP offers consumers the best possible value.
