ED Shoebridge, head of customer marketing at C&C Group, reckons launches and promotions of fruit ciders have added dynamic energy to the cider market.
He said: “Fruit cider was a big player in 2014, up 36% in value according to Nielson and we expect this to continue in 2015.
“Apple cider is still the leading cider category with 77% of the market.
“Retailers can use big sports events to create excitement among customers.
“They can also tap into other areas such as music and comedy festivals to promote their cider ranges.
“For those unable to attend the big festivals such as Glastonbury or T in the Park, retailers can help bring the festival spirit to their stores with themed offers and clever merchandising of products.”
