CADBURY Dairy Milk chocolate in the UK has carried the Fairtrade logo since 2009. Since then, Fairtrade certification has also been granted to Cadbury Drinking Chocolate, Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons and Cadbury Dairy Milk Bubbly.
Alongside that activity, Mondelez International has developed a $400m programme called Cocoa Life based on its Cadbury Cocoa Partnership in Ghana, India and the Dominican Republic.
Cocoa Life works to improve the livelihoods and living conditions of more than 200,000 cocoa farmers and about a million people in cocoa farming communities.

“Sales of Cadbury Dairy Milk in the UK generate a significant social premium for farmers.
“This, to date, has been over £6m for cocoa farmers in Ghana and over £4m for sugar farmers in Belize .
“Protecting the wellbeing of our planet is a key pillar of our global strategy.
“This includes transforming the agricultural supply chain which is an essential foundation for a sustainable future.”
• Maltesers achieved Fairtrade accreditation in 2012 with a commitment to source its entire cocoa supply from sustainable sources by 2020.
• KitKat four-finger became Fairtrade in 2010.
The two-finger variety was certified in 2013 following agreement with an additional nine farmer co-operatives in the Ivory Coast to supply Fairtrade certified cocoa.
