PERKIER, the free-from brand created by coeliac Ann Perkins, has added breakfast-on-the go options and snacking treats to its product roster.
Perkins estimates that some 9m British consumers are seeking gluten-free food for their diet. ”It is important that key occasions like breakfast and snacking are catered for in the c-store sector, for consumers to grab and go and ‘top up’ their main shopping trip,” she said.
She says the brand’s Golden Syrup porridge pots, RRP £1.35, are a first in the gluten-free market. Other flavours are Fruity Berry & Apple and Cinnamon & Raisin.
Perkier Tiffin combines chocolate biscuit, honeycomb and raisins while Rocky Road has biscuit and marshmallows in Belgian milk chocolate. The lines come in snack-sized bars (RRP £1.25) or as bitesize pieces in sharing tubs (RRP £2.29).
All the Perkier products are free-from gluten, wheat and eggs and made without artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
“As a gluten-free consumer myself, I am very aware of the limited offering that the on-the-go gluten-free sector has to offer,” says Perkins. “The last two years have seen significant growth across the category.”
