RETAIL crime emerged as a key issue and delegates vented their frustration at the police for not taking the problem seriously enough and responding slowly to calls for assistance during a Q&A session at the Scottish Grocers’ Federation’s Business Information Seminar last month.
The seminar also heard from Gary Ritchie, assistant director with the Scottish Business Crime Centre who highlighted initial findings from the Scottish Grocers’ Federation members’ survey on retail crime. Analysis of the survey by the SBCC shows that verbal and physical assaults are key issues for convenience stores.
