CARIBBEAN rum brand Mount Gay has taken to the skies with British Airways to mark 70 years of flights to Barbados.

All customers flying with British Airways to Barbados from London Heathrow or Gatwick airports can enjoy blends from the Barbadian rum on board while cruising at 30,000 ft.

Customers flying First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy on these flights can indulge in the rum brand’s blends including its award-winning XO or its Eclipse rum, aiming to cover all tastebuds.

Highlighting one of the oldest rum distilleries in the world on board, Mount Gay was first established in 1703 in Barbados helping to cement the country as the birthplace of rum in the process.

The rum brand is also marking over 30 years of its XO Triple Cask Blend rum along with 321 years of rum making this year.

Antoine Couvreur, managing director at Mount Gay, said: “Mount Gay’s presence on British Airways flights is a testament to the shared values of quality, heritage and excellence that both brands represent.

“As visitors embark on their journeys to the birthplace of rum, they can now raise a glass and toast to the occasion with Barbados’ favourite rum, adding a touch of Mount Gay magic and Caribbean charm to their inflight experience.”
