THE strengths and brilliance of Scotland’s convenience retailers and their stores is evident from the entries already received for the Scottish Grocer Awards 2024.

Quality stores and shopkeepers from around Scotland have been put forward as potential winners across an array of categories.

And the good news is that there is still plenty of time to enter your store or nominate a retailer, employee or outlet that you think deserves to be honoured.

Your online submissions must be made by Friday 24 May 2024 and the process for entering is very straightforward.

All you have to do is head to our website – www.scottishgrocer.co.uk – check out the criteria and come up with answers to the questions posed for the category or categories you wish to enter.

Each store may bid to win up to three awards. So think carefully about which honours you want to seek recognition for and feel free to include any relevant background information and images.

And this year, for the first time ever, we are also allowing video submissions instead of written ones, if you prefer, before Scottish Grocer judges hit the road this summer.

This year’s programme has been designed to reward the hard graft, innovative thinking, clever category management and attention to detail across the convenience channel.

Among the gongs up for grabs are Impulse Retailer of the Year, Best Soft Drinks Retailer of the Year, Licensed Retailer of the Year, Vaping Retailer of the Year and Tobacco Retailer of the Year.

Other popular categories are Symbol Store of the Year, with prizes for single and multiple stores, Independent Retailer of the Year, Best New Store of the Year, Community Retailer of the Year, Sustainability Champion, The Innovation Award and Employee of the Year.

And, of course, the ceremony at the Hilton Glasgow on 6 November will conclude with the two big honours – the Entrepreneur Award and Industry Achievement Award.

But you’ve got to be in it to win it – so get your entries in now for the biggest night in the Scottish retail calendar that celebrates the nation’s outstanding convenience stores.
