Snacks brand embraces Mexican-inspired flavours

GLOBAL snacking firm pladis has expanded on its Jacob’s Mini Cheddars line with the addition of two new limited edition variants to tie in with the upcoming summer of sport.
Aiming to tap into the demand for more Mexican flavours in the snacks category, Jacob’s has rolled out its new Nacho Cheese and Chipotle & Lime flavours to provide shoppers with a point of difference from the brand across the snacks aisle.
The Mini Cheddars Chipotle & Lime variant combines the smokey heat of chipotle peppers with the zesty acidity of lime to create a vibrant snacks from the brand. Meanwhile, the Mini Cheddars Nacho Cheese combines cheese flavours with extra spices for a richer, more savoury taste. Both come in 150g Sharing bags for £2 RRP as well as a price-marked 90g at £1.25.
The new Mini Cheddars limited edition flavours are also included in a new on-pack campaign running throughout this year’s “summer of sport” including the highly anticipated Fifa World Cup. And with the football tournament set to take place across America, Canada and Mexico, the new flavours are an ideal pairing for the World Cup.
In addition to the new limited edition variants, the on-pack promotion will also run across Jacob’s sharing and grab bag formats across Crinklys Big, Twiglets and Mini Cheddar Cheeselets. The latter of which launched in recent months to provide shoppers with a bold, cheesy flavour.
The on-pack competition offers shoppers the chance to win “A Home Stadium Set-Up”. To be in with the chance of winning, shoppers need only scan the QR code seen across packs to be in with the chance of winning a Sony home stadium set-up worth £5,000.
In addition to this, independent retailers have the chance to win big with the promotion including a top prize of a £1,500 home stadium set-up from Sony or one of over 60,000 Sony Bluetooth travel speakers.
Store owners can take part in the fun by scanning QR codes on participating PMP cases of Jacob’s products.
