City forecourt store opens its doors to the community

A JET forecourt store in Edinburgh has re-opened its doors following on from a six-month long transformation process.
Jet Restalrig re-opened to the public on 27 March to deliver a significantly enhanced forecourt location and convenience offer with the Premier store on the forecourt site.
Site operator Rajan Sood, his son Kiran, daughter-in-law Sophie and Paul Yates, Jet retail account manager at Phillips 66 Ltd, were joined by legendary former Hibernian FC player Pat Stanton to cut the ceremonial ribbon and bring local shoppers back to the forecourt.
Operated by Rajan Sood of RJ Fuels Ltd, the site has undergone a massive transformation with only the original canopy and external shop building structure remaining. The redevelopment brings the site in line with the latest Jet brand image, alongside a reconfigured forecourt and completely modernised store to better serve customers.
The forecourt has also been fully resurfaced and upgraded with new pumps, improved layout and additional parking along with new under-canopy facilities for air and screen wash. Jet Ultra Premier Fuels have also been introduced, offering four fuel grades to motorists for the first time at the forecourt.
Rajan Sood, director of RJ Fuels, said: “This is a complete transformation of the site, and we’re really proud to be reopening and welcoming the community back.
“After being closed for six months, it’s been great to hear such positive feedback from local customers, particularly around the improved shop and food offer. We’ve created a space that better reflects what people want from a modern forecourt.”
Inside the Premier on the forecourt, the store has been fully refitted and relaunched as a Premier convenience store with a strong food-to-go offer supplied by Fife Creamery alongside a Stephens Bakery counter, Rollover hot food, Savage Kitchen ready meals and Lavazza Coffee.
Furthermore, there is a wider convenience range that has been tailored to fit local demand including an on-site catering kitchen for freshly-prepared sandwiches and hot food.
The site has also invested heavily into more tech solutions with an advanced retail and security offer from RetailAI.
Graham Clout, retail manager for UK marketing at Phillips 66 Ltd, said: “It’s great to see the transformation of JET Restalrig and the positive impact this investment has on serving the local community.
“We work closely with our dealers to support developments like this, combining a strong, reliable fuel offer with a recognised brand, alongside the flexibility for sites to shape their own retail proposition. Together, this is how the JET network continues to evolve to meet changing customer needs.”
