Bringing a flame-grilled taste to the snacks aisle

Snacks brand Pringles has teamed up with fast food chain Burger King to launch two new limited edition flavours inspired by the Home of the Whopper.

SNACKS brand Pringles has unveiled its new collaboration with fast food chain Burger King with two new burger-inspired flavours to its line-up.

The new non-HFSS snacks take inspiration from Burger King’s two most popular burgers with the Pringles Burger King Bacon Double Cheese XL and Burger King Chicken Royale.

The Pringles Burger King Chicken Royale Flavour delivers on a taste of juicy fried chicken, layered with mayo and lettuce with a touch of salt and vinegar which is capped off with the subtly sweet taste of a Burger King bun.

Meanwhile, the Bacon Double Cheese XL delivers a juicy, flame-grilled beef burger taste with bacon and creamy melted cheese that is, again, finished with a sweet touch from the Burger King bun.

Available from April to the end of September, parent firm Kellanova – part of the Mars company – reckons the new launches come at a key time for the snacks market as many shopper prepare for outdoor occasions such as parties or barbecues.

The new launches have been designed with the convenience channel in mind as well through its £2 PMP pack format which also includes an exclusive buy-one-get-one-free offer on-pack.

For any customers who buy either the Pringles Chicken Royale or Bacon Double Cheese XL will also be able to scan an on-pack QR code to redeem a free Chicken Royale or Bacon Double Cheese XL burger from participating Burger King UK restaurants.

To do so, shoppers need only scan the QR code found on packs to visit the dedicated microsite, enter their details along with the last four digits of the relevant pack barcode to claim a unique voucher code for a free burger. The promotion starts from 6 April and will conclude on 31 October.

Convenience retailers will be able to find these PMP packs across Booker, Bestway and other leading wholesale groups across the country as well as One Stop, Spar and Nisa. Plain packs will also be available across the major supermarkets.

Evie Pickering, assistant brand manager at Pringles, said: “This exciting collaboration represents a true meeting of two iconic brands, both famous for bold flavours and an uncompromising commitment to delivering what consumers love.

“Working closely with the Burger King crew, our food development team has taken the unmistakable taste of two of the best-loved menu items and translated them into limited edition, non-HFSS Pringles, perfect for sharing.

“For retailers, it’s a partnership with real pulling power. Burger King brings instant recognition and a broad, loyal fanbase which creates immediate cut through at shelf. And when you layer in engaging in store support and a compelling on-pack promotion, it gives shoppers yet another reason to add to basket.

“With straight packs and £2.00 PMPs across channels, we’ve made it easy to stock and sell. We’re confident this collaboration available right through the summer will help our retail customers win big and score more sales than ever before.”
