Building on Mexican flavours for Kettle Chips brand

HAND-COOKED chips brand Kettle Chips has unveiled its new expansion into the tortilla chips category with the launch of the new Kettle Tortillas range.
Crafted for shoppers who are seeking a crunchier texture from the premium snacks category, the new range features three different flavours to match on-trend demands within the snacks space.
The new range consists of Kettle Tortillas Mature Cheddar & Red Onion, Kettle Tortillas Sweet Chilli & Sour Cream and Kettle Tortillas Sea Salt & Black Pepper.
Each flavour is built on a Mexican-inspired corn tortilla chips base with flavours mixed in to deliver a more premium snacking experience, says parent firm Valeo Foods.
The Mature Cheddar & Red Onion variant is based on white corn with red quinoa, onion and herbs with a rich cheddar taste to finish. Meanwhile, the Sweet Chilli & Sour Cream features a red pepper, pumpkin and brown linseed base with a creamy sour cream and chilli seasoning. And lastly, the Sea Salt & Black Pepper variant offers a nutrient-dense chip with black beans, millet, brown linseeds and sunflower seeds that is topped with a bold sea salt and black pepper seasoning.
The fresh to market variants come in 140g sharing bags that are compliant with HFSS regulations to offer shoppers a more permissible snack from the premium category.
Available now across Waitrose and Morrisons, the new Kettle Tortillas are priced in line with the rest of the Kettle Chips range at £2.65 – with a promotional price of £1.65 per pack available as well.
Michael Inpong, chief marketing officer at Valeo Foods UK, said: “We’re excited to announce the launch of the new Kettle Tortillas, which bring everything consumers love about our iconic hand-cooked potato chips to the tortilla category.
“Whether it’s Kettle’s bold crunch or real food ingredients, these are tortillas elevated to a gourmet level – perfect for dipping, sharing or enjoying straight from the bag during those moments that deserve a little something extra.”
