Strengthening trade for Spar across Scotland

DUNDEE wholesaler CJ Lang & Son has appointed Josie Cattermoul as its new trading director to support its Spar symbol group stores across Scotland.
Cattermoul is leading trading across buying, range, promotions and supplier partnerships for Spar Scotland stores and will carry the responsibility for strengthening the Spar Scotland proposition across the country.
Cattermoul joins the Dundee firm from Tasmanian Independent Retailers, where she was general manager – merchandising & marketing and led the end-to-end trading strategy across buying, ranging, promotions and marketing for an independent retail network.
Prior to this, Cattermoul also held senior positions across James Hall & Co and at Iceland Foods.
Colin McLean, chief executive officer at CJ Lang & Son, said: “Josie brings exactly the blend of trading expertise and collaborative leadership we need for the next phase of SPAR Scotland’s growth.
“Her experience, alongside her focus on partnership and data-led category strategy, will be instrumental in strengthening our offer for both retailers and customers.”
Cattermoul will be responsible for building deeper, more collaborative relationships with suppliers and increasing the focus on local Scottish sourcing for the Spar brand. She will also work to embed joint business planning across key categories to help ensure availability for retailers, value and execution across the Spar Scotland estate.
Speaking on her new position, Cattermoul said: “I am excited to work with suppliers across Scotland – from national brands to local producers – to deliver joint plans that strengthen availability, sharpen value and help retailers succeed in their communities.”
