McCoy’s makes its first move into the nuts category

SNACKS giant KP Snacks has announced its McCoy’s brand has launched its first ever nuts product with the new McCoy’s Coated Peanuts range.
Marking the first time that the brand has launched in the nuts category, the new McCoy’s Coated Peanuts range comes in two of McCoy’s most popular flavours, Flamed Grilled Steak and Salt & Malt Vinegar.
The new range will roll out to store shelves from mid-March in price-marked packs with prices set at £1.35 per pack.
The new product features golden peanuts from the KP Nuts range that have been combined with McCoy’s punchy flavours in a crunchy outer shell. Each pack also features a ‘KP’ stamp, offering a guarantee to consumers and fans of the brand of the taste and quality found inside each pack.
By making its debut in the nuts category, KP Snacks is confident that it will bring more consumers to the coated nuts opportunity through the popularity of its McCoy’s brand.
Beth George, senior brand manager at McCoy’s, said: “Launching McCoy’s coated nuts is a major milestone for the brand, breaking the barriers between crisps and nuts to deliver an exciting new product that broadens McCoy’s bold taste and texture credentials, while staying true to its iconic and intense flavours.
“Tasty Nuts represents a huge opportunity to expand the McCoy’s brand, with this segment holding a 10.3% share of CSN sales.
“These two new products are perfectly positioned to disrupt the category and excite shoppers, bringing new consumers into the Coated Nuts segment with the bold appeal of McCoy’s signature flavours and the trusted quality of KP Nuts.
“We’re also dialing up visibility with high-impact media and POS to capture consumer attention and drive interest in the new range.”
