Spar Scotland unveils new company-owned store

Symbol group Spar Scotland has unveiled its latest company-owned store as the new Spar Market Ladybank location has opened its doors.

SYMBOL group Spar Scotland has opened its latest company-owned store, Spar Market Ladybank, following the relocation of its existing store to a larger premises.

Located on Commercial Road in the heart of the village, the new 1,747 sqft store represents a substantial investment by CJ Lang & Son, Spar Scotland wholesaler, into the area.

The move sees Spar Scotland take over a fully refurbish the former Premier store that was directly opposite its previous location. All former staff and colleagues have also moved over to the new Ladybank store, ensuring continuity of service, and the store has also introduced new team members from across the community.

This expanded footprint now enables Spar to deliver a much broader offer for the local community, including:
• CJ’s Food-to-Go hot food offer.
• Barista Bar.
• Extended chilled ranges.
• Extended grocery ranges.
• A strong selection of local produce.
• A broad programme of value-led promotions.
• Essential services including Evri parcels, PayPoint, ATM and The National Lottery.

To mark the opening, the team hosted a ‘Grand Opening and Festive Celebration’ on 5 December. The event featured face painting, Christmas pries, a ‘spin the wheel’ competition which included two £100 Spar voucher giveaways and a special visit from Santa Claus.

Stuart’s Bakery and Thomson’s Tea were also involved, offering free samples to shoppers whilst carol singing was provided by pupils from Ladybank Primary School.

As part of the celebrations, Spar Scotland also made charitable donations of £500 each to Ladybank Primary School, Ladybank Youth Club and Ladybank Development Trust, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the local community.
