Former F1 coach moves into people performance director position
FORMER Formula One coach, Bradley Scanes, has been appointed as the new people performance director at AG Barr.
Scanes brings over 13 years of experience with him to the role with time coaching some of the world’s most elite athletes including serving as high performance coach and physiotherapist to four-time Formula One champion Max Verstappen.
Alongside his work in motorsports, Scanes has supported Olympic athletes in British gymnastics and basketball, advising teams through their Olympic cycles and helping them to build the habits and processes that lead to consistent success.
Speaking on his appointment, Alison Gowan, chief people officer at AG Barr, said: “We know that our people are the key to our success. Bradley’s experience in helping elite athletes achieve their goals will be invaluable in creating a workplace where everyone can thrive.
“This is about backing our colleagues with world-class support, improving our collective capabilities and strengthening our culture to ensure we continue to set the standard in our industry.
The new strategic appointment marks the latest milestone in AG Barr’s rich history of innovation and refelcts the company’s continued commitment to creating an environment where its people can thrive.
Scanes will focus on drawing on close connections between elite sport and business to embed positive habits across AG Barr and fine-tune processes to ensure the business continues to be a leader in innovation. He will officially join AG Barr on 10 December, reporting directly to Gowan.
