Seven week refit completed at Co-op store in Irvine

THE ribbon has been cut on the newly refitted Caldon Road Co-op store in Irvine, following a seven week programme to update the store.
The Caldon Road store – which supports 14 local jobs – has been “transformed” with a new look and layout inclusive of an enhanced bakery offer, Costa Coffee Express and new refrigeration units to help cut Co-op’s carbon footprint and enhance the store’s chilled, fresh and frozen ranges.
In addition to this, online home delivery services, including Just East, Uber Eats and Co-op’s own online shop, have all been introduced to the store, with orders picked fresh in the local store and delivered quickly and conveniently in local communities.
Parcel collection services for DPD and Amazon are also on offer in this revamped Co-op, as well as member price savings for Co-op members and discounts for Young Scot card carriers.
Locals to the store can also have their soft plastics recycled in-store, making it easier for shoppers to return harder-to-recycle materials such as crisp packets, bread bags, lids from ready meals, biscuit wrappers and pet food pouches.
Thomas Brown, area operations manager for the Co-op, said: “We are delighted to have had the opportunity to invest in Irvine. The works have made a huge difference, the store has been completely transformed, with a fresh new look designed to enhance the customer shopping experience.
“We’re proud to be part of local community life. We have a focus on being a hub locally for the community, delivering the quality, choice, value and added services which can be enjoyed by everyone – we’re here to contribute to local life and conveniently serve and support the Irvine community.”
