SCOTTISH artisan foods brand Castle MacLellan has gained Scottish distribution for its new parfaits and pâtés in Tesco stores.

Rolling out from the 18 October, the new range will be available in-store and online featuring the Castle MacLellan Chicken Liver Parfait and the Castle MacLellan Mushroom Pâté.

The Chicken Liver Parfait combines chicken liver with Scottish heather honey, aged brandy and is enriched with butter. Each 100g pack comes with an RRP of £3.50.

Meanwhile, the Mushroom Pâté blends up chestnuts, seps and Japanese shiitake mushroom to deliver a rich umami flavour profile that is complemented by crème fraiche, garlic and thyme. This 100g pack also has an RRP of £3.50.

This launch into Tesco stores makes up a wider part of the growth plan that Castle MacLellan has set down with plans to introduce new products this year and into 2026.

The brand said its aim is to broaden consumer choice and reinforce the brand’s position as the leading artisan producer in the chilled aisle, underpinned by a significant backing from the brand’s owner – Kavli Trust.

In addition to the new products, Castle MacLellan will also roll out a new marketing campaign to further build awanress with consumers. Titled ‘Bring taste to your table’, the activity is set to kick off from November.

Gareth Watson, marketing manager at Castle MacLellan, said: “People are cutting back on dining out but trading up at home, with ‘dinner for tonight’ now one of the fastest-growing sectors and a category growth driver for pâtés.

“Castle MacLellan’s new artisan parfaits and pâtés bring food lovers the trusted quality and provenance they’re looking for, helping retailers grow the premium tier and drive repeat purchase. Launching into Tesco stores, this range strengthens the fixture with recipes built on quality, provenance and flavour.

“The pâté fixture itself is changing. While standard and value ranges have seen challenges, the premium tier is seeing double-digit growth, fuelled by shoppers trading up for trusted brands and more distinctive recipes. Our focus on chef-developed recipes and British sourcing means we are well placed to capture this momentum.”
