BOOKER’S rapid delivery grocery ordering platform, Scoot, has recently rolled out to its 100th store, marking a major milestone for the service.

Since its launch in spring of this year, Scoot has expanded at pace and brought a fast delivery solution to communities across Scotland through Booker’s leading symbol groups: Premier, Londis, Budgens and Family Shopper.

The 100 store milestone marks a significant step in support leading independent retailers to offer same-day and on-demand delivery, helping them to grow their customer base as well as compete in a highly competitive and fast-moving marketplace.

Pant Stores in Merthur Tydfill in Wales marked the 100th store to go live with the service, with more stores already confirmed to launch in the coming weeks across the rest of the UK.

Anuja Jenarthen, retailer at Pant Stores, said: “We’re really excited to be the 100th store to launch Scoot. It’s a great opportunity to bring rapid delivery to our customers and be part of something that’s clearly growing fast.”

With more shoppers then ever expecting a local delivery service from convenience stores, Scoot has helped to enable Booker symbol stores the opportunity to drive up some additional store sales. And the service has remained flexible to support stores across the UK as seen by its recent partnership with Just Eat to offer a third-party delivery solution.

The service has been warmly-welcomed by Booker retailers from day one as well, as noted by Faraz Iqbal and Sophie Williams, retailers at Premier Linktown Local and Premier Broadway Convenience Store respectively, who were the first store owners to introduce the service in Scotland.

Damian Sanderson, head of home delivery at Booker, said: “Reaching 100 stores on the Scoot platform is a fantastic achievement, and a real testament to the appetite from our retailers and their communities.

“We’re proud to offer a solution that helps independent stores thrive in the delivery space. With more stores going live each week, we’re excited about what’s next for Scoot – this is only the beginning.”
