Graham’s Family Dairy is asking Scots to give up their ginger!
Graham’s Family Dairy is calling on Scots to surrender their favourite fizzy drinks for a healthier option at local community pop-ups this month, giving people the opportunity to trade in cans and bottles in exchange for the company’s award-winning Organic Whole Milk.
The family business is launching the campaign to mark Organic September, an annual nationwide initiative run by the Soil Association, with the purpose of using the month to highlight organic produce and its nutritional and environmental benefits.
Scotland’s first every ‘Fizzy Exchange’ was held at the beginning of the month in the firm’s hometown of Bridge of Allan, where attendees swapped the empty calories of fizzy drinks for nutritionally rich organic milk.
“We decided that Organic September was the perfect time to put the nation to the test – asking people to swap out their cans for our organic milk, all produced from cows right here in Scotland,” said Dr Robert Graham, chairman at Graham’s Family Dairy “Milk provides essential nutrients like calcium, protein, vitamin D, and B vitamins that support strong bones and muscles – a far cry from most fizzy drinks, which are little more than empty calories from sugar.
“Our Organic Whole Milk is unhomogenised, giving customers the rich, creamy taste of milk just like in the old days – full of natural goodness and nutritional benefits, just as it was when I first started working alongside my father.
“Seeing such enthusias for our organic range right here in our own hometown was brilliant and we are now calling on the nation to take part in the swap!”
Andrew Shepherd, performance nutrition lead at Loughborough Sport, a specialist department within the UK’s leading sports university, Loughborough, said: “Milk is a natural source of high-quality protein, calcium, and essential vitamins, making it an excellent choice for supporting muscle repair, bone health, and overall recovery after exercise. Unlike sugary fizzy drinks, which provide empty calories and little nutritional value, milk delivers hydration alongside nutrients that athletes genuinely need to perform at their best.
“Milk’s unique combination of carbohydrates and electrolytes also makes it a practical option for rehydration, helping to restore energy and maintain performance. For anyone serious about health and fitness, swapping fizzy drinks for milk is a simple change that can make a big difference.”
