Supporting families during the summer holidays across stores

GLASGOW-BASED wholesaler JW Filshill has launched its KeyStore summer campaign in partnership with the Healthy Living Programme (HLP), giving away free tomato pasta meal kits for families.
The summer campaign, which the HLP team is running to mark Filshill’s 150th anniversary this year, is offering nutritious, tasty and easy-to-cook veggie kits to parents who ask for them in their local KeyStore with no questions asked.
Filshill has also received support from supplier Princes Group, owner of Napolina, which has provided the stock free of charge as part of the initiative – all retailers need to supply is the onion, making it virutally cost-free for KeyStore operators to take part.
Gillian Edgar, field manager for HLP, said: “The kits contain two cans of Napolina chopped tomatoes, Napolina Penne pasta, an onion, a wooden spoon and a recipe card for Tomato Pasta.
“School holidays can be difficult for families who rely on free school meals to help them budget, so these kits take a bit of pressure off them.
“The Tomato Pasta recipe is nutritionally balanced and approved by the Scottish Government’s Parent Club and we’re working with KeyStore outlets on estates and those with a strong community focus where we know there will be good local engagement.”
Craig Brown, chief sales and marketing officer at JW Filshill, said: “Our KeyStore estate works closely with the Healthy Living Programme all year round and we regularly hold Welby Breakfasts in stores to educate children and adults about healthy eating.
“When Gillian and her team approached us about doing something special this summer to help support retailers and their customers in our 150th anniversary year, we felt that offering free meal kits would be really appreciated by families and give them a boost during the holidays.
“The ‘KeyStore TikTok guy’ – presenter Greg Summers – has also managed to get out to a few stores to help promote the campaign which is taking place in stores all over Scotland.”
