Ultra-rapid EV charging sites roll out across the UK

FORECOURT operator JET has seen masses of success for its ultra-rapid EV offer JET Charge as the service rolls out across further sites.
Company-owned sites Beacon Garage and Abbeyside – which both have three charging bays – has both recorded a significant increase in footfall, with the Abbeyside location recording more than 800 charges in quarter four 2024. Similarly, dealer owned sites have reported widespread success in this regard, including JET Cooper Bros in Wishaw.
Commenting on customer reaction, Garry Gibson, operations director at JET Cooper Bros, said: “EV customers have all be complimentary about how easy to use and accessible the chargers are, with many taking the opportunity to use the shop – which is good to see.”
Launched in February 2023, JET CHARGE offers forecourt retailers up to 360kWh Ultra-Rapid charging, pay-as-you-go payment with no minimum charge on customers, helping to provide a fast service for consumers with a first-class service, says parent firm Phillips 66.
Now the service is set to expand further in Scotland after in-depth site analysis found that the JET CHARGE EV Sites could be installed at the Forfar Road forecourt in Dundee as well as Hillside Terrace in the Scottish Borders.
Rupert Turner, managing director, UK marketing, at Phillips 66, said: “JET CHARGE is bringing new customers to the JET brand every day, many of whom shop while waiting to power up.
“Add increased footfall and a commitment from us to meet the costs of installation, and it’s a compelling offer more and more of our dealers are looking to explore.”
