Embracing functional coffee drinks

CANNED coffee brand Unconform – part of Impact Coffee – is set to disrupt the iced coffee sector with a trio of new vegan Cold Brew variants.
Blending together oat milk with arabica coffee beans and functional health benefits, the trio aims to make the most out of the rising demand for cold brew options by bringing them to consumers in the convenience of a can.
The new variants consist of a Flat White coffee with Ashwaghanda, Ginkgo Bilboa & Vitamin 12; Salted Caramel Latte with Inulin and Turmeric; and a Mocha with Niacin & Biotin. Each 250ml can comes with an RSP of £2.49 each.
Positioned as a healthier alternative to more sugary iced coffees, cold brew coffee is gaining some degree of traction with younger coffee-appreciating consumers who are looking for a better-for-you pick-me-up option or even as an alternative to alcohol for social events.
Yusuf Amanullah, boss at Unconform, said: “Although our first foray into cold brew coffee – Impact Coffee – proved very successful, quickly gained traction online, within top end delis, convenience stores and even blue-chip retailers like Holland & Barrett; we knew that this was merely the opening salvo within cutting-edge cold brew innovation.
“Unconform identifies the scope for supercharged cold brew beverages to go the extra distance as the perfect host for beneficial vitamins, spices and plants to create oat milk coffee with authentic wellness upsides.”
