Scottish service station retailers can get latest industry insights at event

SCOTTISH service station retailers can find out all about sector developments at the Petrol Retailers Association (PRA) Forecourt Roadshow later this spring.
The event at the Radstone Hotel in Larkhall, Lanarkshire, on Wednesday 21 May is open to everyone in the industry and free to attend.
Running from 10am to 4pm, the get-together is set to cover topics such as the transition to a low-carbon transport system, increased Government scrutiny on fuel prices, changes in technology and shifts in consumer habits.
The PRA and Car Wash Association (CWA) will provide a market update, while Christie & Co will provide the latest property movement insights.
Other presentations will come from Facewatch and Forecourt Eye on crime prevention technology and Glory Global on improving customer experience, loss prevention and operational efficiency.
Among the exhibitors are firms providing fuel supply services, fuel dispensers, car wash systems, EPOS and back-office solutions, construction and project management, shopfitting, security systems, laundry machines and insurance.
PRA and CWA executive director Gordon Balmer said: “The roadshow provides an opportunity to meet with over 25 companies, network with major suppliers, meet with like-minded retailers and to hear our presentations.
“We also provide free refreshments, lunch and parking. So I look forward to seeing many Scottish forecourt retailers on the day.”
Those interested in attending can register online at www.ukpra.co.uk via the events tab, email lou.woods@rmif.co.uk or call the PRA on 01788 538302.
Meanwhile, the PRA has created a graphic to explain the various components that make up the typical pump price for fuel. This will be changed monthly and will reflect average pump prices.
Members may find this useful when explaining to customers how the pump price is comprised – especially with the current fuel price volatility. It can be downloaded from the PRA website.
