Whisky bottling start-up firm The Tailored Spirits Co. has unveiled its first series of single malt whiskies in a bid to explore the experimental side of whisky.

WHISKY bottling start-up Tailored Spirits Co. has unveiled its first series of whiskies to display the explorative nature of whisky.

Dubbed The Experimental Series, the trio of drams are one-of-a-kind micro-batch experiments, says bottling firm, with the limited-edition whiskies designed to push the boundaries of what a single cask whisky can be.

The series consists of a Croftengea Loch Lomond 7-year-old, a Fettercairn 13-year-old and an Ardmore 8-year-old. The Loch Lomond dram is limited to only 52 bottles, with a cost of £59.50, while the Fettercairn has the slightly higher number of 84 bottles at £74.50 each. Finally, the Ardmore is limited to just 60 bottles, priced at £64.50 each.

The 7-year-old Croftengea Loch Lomond has been called Experiment 1 AXIS in its new bottling and features a heavily peated highlands dram that has been matured in an Oloroso Montilla American Oak cask to provide a unique blend of tastes in sweet charred wood, maple syrup and cola cubes.

The Experiment 2 BUCK – Fettercairn 13-year-old – pair together the Highlands with the Hispanic and features a Spanish red wine finish with flavours of cherry chocolate, marzipan and baked stone fruit.

Finally, the Ardmore 8-year-old, now called Experiment 3 CLAW, offers a lightly peated single cask whisky that spent its early years in ex-bourbon casks before a re-rack into a first fill ex-Cognac European Oak cask. Tasting notes include barley hay, salted butter, orange peel and candied lemon.

All three of the whiskies are available from Tailored Spirits Co. website and feature a unique design inspired by travel luggage labels. Part of this design includes a removable tab which contains a four-letter-code which not only offers a collectors item for whisky enthusiasts, but also provides access to a very exclusive future release.

Those consumers who collect six of The Experimental Series tickets will gain exclusive access to a very special upcoming experimental release, says The Tailored Spirits Co.
