BURNS Night presents plenty of opportunities to drive up sales of Scottish products, but none more so than the traditional Burns Supper options.

Haggis, neeps and tatties may be all you need to ensure plenty of happy faces on 25 January, but there are so many different brands to choose from for the celebrations.

Scotty Brand reckons its range of potato options, will be in high demand for the evening.

Whether shoppers are out to make a dinner from scratch or find an easier way to build their plates, Scotty Brand offers plenty of choice.

This includes its recently launched Chilled Mash Potatoes. The ready-made option ensures an easy Burns Night for many.

A spokesperson for Scotty Brand said: “The launch of Scotty Brand Mashed Potato into the chilled category this year gives shoppers the chance to buy a favourite local brand, produced here in Scotland.

“The new chilled mash is ideal for an easy Burns Supper and, like the rest of the Scotty Brand chilled range, is perfect for tasty, convenient suppers year-round.

“Scotland has a great heritage of quality brands and products, and we believe there should be a key focus that allows consumers to buy into provenance and seasonality all year.

“Scotty Brand is at the forefront of providing a choice of quality seasonal products, including Ayrshire Baby Potatoes, Strawberries, Raspberries, Cherries, Fresh Soups and more.”

Macsween of Edinburgh is a name that springs to the minds of many consumers when it comes to haggis.

Of course, the core part of any Burns Supper is haggis. And for many shoppers across the country, it just isn’t haggis if it isn’t Macsween.

Macsween of Edinburgh is a name that often comes to mind, alongside that of Rabbie’s, and has become an iconic Scottish product during its lifetime.

The third-generation family business recently embarked on a brand new endeavour following a controlling interest being acquired in the company by new group Macallan Food Group, which also owns the Malcolm Allan butchery brand.

Despite these developments, many consumers will still have a staple on their table this Burns Night, whether this be Macsween Haggis, Vegetarian Haggis or even Black Pudding as an extra Scottish addition to the dinner plate. Further to this, the brand also offers a Gluten-Free Haggis.

Managing director James Macsween said: “This new investment is great news for our business, which will continue as a standalone entity but will be part of a larger group with common services and opportunities for synergy.

“Exciting times lie ahead, which will enable us to achieve more and maximise opportunities. The two most essential elements of the Macsween business – and the wider group – are the quality of our products and excellent customers service, which will underpin everything we do.”
