Limited edition cheese rolls out ahead of new film
CHEESE firm Wensleydale Creamery has launched five limited edition Wallace & Gromit themed cheese truckles ahead of the launch of the new film.
Inspired by the famous animated duo, the range includes a selection of 150g and 200g cheese truckles featuring characters from the franchise’s history.
The three 150g truckles come in Yorkshire Wensleydale, which features Wallace on pack, Yorkshire Wensleydale & Cranberries with Gromit and the duo’s penguin nemesis Feathers McGraw is exclusive to the 150g Mature Cheddar Truckle.
Further to this, both the Original Yorkshire Wensleydale and Yorkshire Wensleydale & Cranberries launches are available in 200g truckles as well, complete with Wallace & Gromit together on both.
The new launch comes ahead of the highly-anticipated new movie ‘Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl’, which is due to release on Christmas Day on BBC One in the UK, and globally on Netflix on 3 January 2025.
The limited edition cheese truckles are available for purchase now from major retailers across the UK, alongside Wensleydale Creamery’s Visitor Centre Shop and independent retailers.
Sandra Bell, marketing manager at Wensleydale Creamery, said: “Wallace’s fondness for cheese has helped raise awareness for our classic Yorkshire Wensleydale, and we’re proud to be partnering with Aardman again to celebrate the release of the new film by creating a unique range of our original cheeses.
“Wallace and Gromit are not only well-loved characters here at the Creamery, but are regarded as British national treasures, and we hope our limited-edition range will bring a smile to our nation of cheese lovers. We can’t wait to see them on shelves!”
Laura Burr, senior brand manager at Aardman – the animation studio behind the Wallace & Gromit films – said: “Wensleydale Creamery is our longest-standing Wallace & Gromit licensee, and we’re delighted to continue this fantastic relationship with the launch of these special truckles.
“Cheese, particularly Wensleydale, has always been important to Wallace, so teaming up with such an iconic British cheesemaker once again feels like a perfect fit.
“We’re excited to bring a taste of Wallace & Gromit’s world to fans, with these delicious truckles embodying all the fun and charm of their adventures.”
