Building excitement for Christmas drinks
PRE-MIXED cocktails brand VK is set to bring in some extra festive cheer to the off-trade this year with the return of its limited-edition Chocolate Orange flavour.
Calling it the return of its “quirky” flavour, the limited edition variant brings a traditional favourite for the season to the off-trade complete with a zesty orange flavour combined with smooth chocolate notes.
Available now in stores, Global Brands – the firm behind VK – reckons the returning flavour will be set to cause disruption for shoppers and stir up conversation about the somewhat divisive flavour.
The flavour will make its return as part of the brand’s Festive Mixed Pack as well, which will also only be available for a limited time in retailers including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrisons, B&M and Home Bargains with an RRP of £9.
To amplify the re-launch, VK has also kicked off a new marketing activation consisting of new out-of-home advertising to reflect the tongue-in-cheek nature of the brand and drive up visibility for the relaunch.
Further activity also includes an on-pack promotion across the Mixed Packs, offering consumers the chance to win one of 70 exclusive, money-can’t-buy branded Christmas jumpers.
Holly Bolus, senior brand manager for VK, said: “As a brand unafraid to push boundaries and create memorable experiences, VK thrives on bringing innovative flavours and eye-catching campaigns to market, especially during key calendar moments.
“VK Chocolate Orange captures that festive feel with a quirky VK twist, and our exclusive marketing activations will add even more value to our retailer partners this season by driving awareness and in-store footfall.
“Christmas is a key social season for our audience, with our customers stocking up on VK for pre-drinks and festive gatherings.
“Our seasonal flavour are always a hit, typically selling out fast, and by bringing back a fan favourite in VK Chocolate Orange, we’re making sure VK remains a go-to choice for nights out in the run up to Christmas and the New Year.”
