Partnership enters brand into the FTG market
CHILLED cheese brand Cathedral City has entered into the food-to-go market following a partnership with Summit Foods.
In a move to expand the brand’s chilled food offer, Summit Foods and brand owner Saputo Dairy UK have teamed up to launch three new FTG options under the Cathedral City brand. This includes two Toastie options including Cheddar & Ham and Cheddar & Red Leicester, as well as a Cheddar & Ham Croissant variant.
Saputo said the partnership aims to offer consumers more from the Cathedral City brand in the chillers with a convenient snacking option whilst also expanding beyond the traditional cheese aisle.
The new range follows on from Cathedral City’s other licensed products including the Heinz Cheesy Beanz launch as well as the ready meal range launched in collaboration with Oscar Mayer in May this year.
The new range is available across 206 Sainsbury’s stores across the UK now with an RRP of £3 for the Toasties and Croissant variants.
Abi Armson, senior brand manager for Cathedral City, said: “We are excited to expand our chilled offerings with the introduction of these new on-the-go products.
“Our partnership with Summit Foods is a testament to our commitment to delivering innovative, high-quality options that meet the evolving needs of our customers.
“With consumers becoming increasingly time poor, shoppers are looking for quick, convenient and fresh meal solutions to satisfy their everyday food needs.
“Our new Toasties and Croissant tick all these boxes, whilst retaining the high quality and delicious taste that you would expect from Cathedral City.
“Our exciting partnership with Summit Foods allows us to continue expanding Cathedral City’s presence beyond the cheese aisle, and we can’t wait for shoppers to try these fantastic new products.”
