AN award-winning distillery has launched tours, a tasting bar and on-site accommodation that will help grow brand awareness.

Jackton Distillery, near East Kilbride, the maker of the RAER whisky range as well as gins and vodka, officially opened its doors at a special event for industry guests last month.

As well as offering engaging tours of the family-run distillery, the state-of-the-art bar is able to hold 100 people – making it ideal for corporate events or private hire for weddings and special occasions.

Meanwhile, The Steadings is a complex of 12 new one and two-bedroom cottages on the distillery grounds, that are said to be a perfect base for touring the Lowlands or for a romantic break or special occasion.

Explaining why the distillery had chosen to make the investment, director Jaynie Kean said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the interest in our distillery and the spirits we craft here.

“We’ve had visitors from across the UK, Europe, North America and even the Far East, and we want to give them an experience that reflects the skill and love that goes into our products.

“Our tours are very interactive – we really want to give visitors something they’ll remember, a ‘RAER Moment’, as we call it.”
