Johnny Marr and The View to headline major charity event
THE final line-up for Checkout Scotland has been revealed by organisers from the GroceryAid charity.
Influential British Indie songwriter and guitarist Johnny Marr tops the bill at the event at the Barras Art and Design (BAaD) venue in Glasgow on Thursday 5 September.
After starting his career with The Smiths, he’s also worked with such names as The Pretenders and Talking Heads, and collaborated with composer Hans Zimmer on the sountrack for the James Bond film No Time To Die.
The other live act in the line-up is Scottish indie rock band The View, renowned for their live performances with sell-out tours and regular festival appearances.
DJ sets on the Rockstar main stage will come from Radio Clyde favourites George Bowie and Cassi, as well as DJ Naeem.
Manwhile, the Container Yard at the venue will see performances by DJs Babyccino and Jim Harper.
Independent retailers, wholesalers, Scottish brands and national supporters can expect to enjoy an evening of networking, fundraising and a host of activations from sponsors alongside the musical entertainment.
Tickets, costing just £95 plus VAT, are still available and can be bought at the events section on the GroceryAid website.
GroceryAid Scotland co-chair Peter Steel said: “This event is as much about heightening the profile of the charity as it is about the funds raised.
“It has really increased awareness and led to a whole load of independent retailers getting to know about GroceryAid, what the charity offers and coming along to the great event that is Checkout Scotland.”
